We are thrilled to showcase the brilliant and dynamic artistry of Dawn Oman, a self-taught First Nations Artist whose roots trace back to Yellowknife, NT. Her heritage is steeped in history as she is a direct descendant of Chief Snuff, one of the signatories of the original Treaty 8 with the Government of Canada.
Dawn's creativity took flight in 1999 when she inaugurated her first gallery in Yellowknife. Her artwork, characterized by the vibrant hues and a lively spirit, captured the hearts of art enthusiasts from all corners of the world.
Her artistic journey is punctuated with remarkable accomplishments. Dawn's work has taken to the skies with her design for Canadian North Airlines' corporate logo, and her designs have been minted into memory with the Royal Canadian Mint's Festivals of Canada series. Her artistry has been recognized globally, with her designs selected for the UNICEF International Card program, the poster for the International Standards Organization, and official greeting cards for the Vatican and the Canadian Consulate General.
Further testament to her versatile talent, Dawn was commissioned by the Coca Cola Company to paint one of their signature six-foot bottles displayed at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. She has also collaborated with prominent Canadian producers like Kanata Blankets, Oscardo, Cherison, Canadian Art Prints, Imagi Nation Cards, Miss Mollies, and Garfinkel Publications, translating her art into a diverse range of products.
In 2010, Dawn moved to the beautiful Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, establishing a new gallery in Annapolis Royal. Overcoming personal challenges, she has now transformed a decommissioned United Church building in Bridgetown into her personal studio and gallery. Here, she continues to create art and develop new products that captivate and delight her global fanbase.
We are proud to exhibit Dawn Oman's art at the Burnbrae boutique & gallery, and we invite you to experience the colors, energy, and spirit of her work. Discover the world through Dawn's playful perspective and become a part of her artistic journey.
